We came, we saw, we conquered.  Well kind of.  This weekend saw London Grow attend the 16th edition of Spannabis.  Always an exciting event for the team, it gives us a chance to meet with likeminded people, catch up with awesome friends and colleagues, bridge new connections and check out the latest innovations from the industry.  It was the third year in a row at the expo and possibly, the biggest and best year yet.  The event has grown immensely with more exhibitors and punters than ever before.

The event’s held over three days in Fira de Cornellá, Barcelona, a beautiful area of the city bustling with hip ‘n happening people from all walks of life with a combination of business exhibitors, entrepreneurs looking to tap into the growing hydroponics market and the hobbyist connoisseur.

The main exhibition hall saw all the familiar faces of years previous, CANNA, General Hydroponics, The Green House Co., and DNA to name a few.  BIOBIZZ this year had a great stand showcasing their Greenhouse-on-wheels.  BIOGREEN nutrients, a favourite of London Grow, were there in full force with a fantastic Hummer dawning the BIOGREEN frog logo at the entrance to Spannabis, and friends over at Hydrogarden, always showing us a warm welcome – one of our favourite suppliers to work with for sure!

This year’s exhibition we felt was lacking a little in product innovation.  That’s not to say there weren’t a few products that caught the teams attention; The idrolab DWC system, the PitPuk from Prima Klima and the Multi Trimmer 420 from ORUGA VERDE a fantastic addition to their already great range of trimmers.  Definitely products to keep an eye on in the future!

All in all, this year’s expo certainly gave us some insight into the growing market space.  Europe, traditionally has the largest share of the hydroponics market with expected market growth (CAGR) of 6.5% forecasted 2018-2023.  It is for sure an exciting time to be involved in the industry.
