All plants require Carbon Dioxide to survive and flourish as CO2 is essential in the process of photosynthesis. Whilst normal level of CO2 in the air can be measured around 300-400 PPM, plants can actually use up to 1200-1500 PPM. Adding additional supplemental CO2 to the grow room and used in the right way can encourage plants to grow considerably faster (photosynthesis rates can double!) which produces bigger plants and therefore significantly increase yields. Plants also deal better with stress and unexpected temperatures rises which is why some growers use CO2 during the hotter summer months.
