The Science
Gavita's PRO HPS 600W/ 400 V bulb is a single-spectrum bulb, which delivers an increased spectrum of light compared to any HPS bulb available. The bulb delivers red/orange light, which is suitable for the flowering/ fruiting stages. It's made for use with the HPS Pro (600W/ 400V) lighting system, which allows for an increased production of light and wider spectrum.
How to Use
Prior to installing the lamp in the ballast, make sure that you match the wattage of the ballast with the bulb. Otherwise you may risk serious damage to your grow light equipment. Turn off the power at the mains when you're fitting the bulb. It's the best practice whenever you're working with electrical products. Screw the bulb into the E40 lamp-holder of the reflector and make sure it's tightly fitted. Use a dry and clean cloth when you're handling the bulb. This way, you'll avoid leaving any marks or fingerprints on the bulb. If you don't secure the bulb tightly, you can risk arcing occurring between the lamp's centre contact and the bulb-holder. After you've fitted the bulb into place, turn on the power. Because HPS grow light becomes very hot, make sure that nothing is touching the lamp when you turn the power on.
